Meet Sarah
Sarah is dedicated to providing exceptional care for infants and making the early stages of parenthood a joyful and fulfilling experience for families. She has supported over twenty families as a Newborn Care Specialist. She has more than eight years of professional childcare experience as a newborn care specialist, a nanny, and an educator at a NAEYC-accredited childcare center. She has experience with Montessori-based, Waldorf-inspired, and RIE practices.
Prior to Sarah’s professional career, she studied neuroscience and education at Bowdoin College where she took relevant classes including Infant and Child Development, Social Development, and Cognitive Development. Her interest in early childhood development, attachment, and cultural approaches to raising children led her to work in an orphanage in Ecuador, study early childhood development in Denmark, and spend a summer as a research assistant at the Yale Infant Cognition Center.
Sarah is kind, collaborative, and supportive. She provides a nurturing environment for infants, where their physical, emotional, and developmental needs are met with the utmost attention and care. She promotes a sense of security through responsive and loving interactions and by establishing comforting routines that serve both the children and adults in the household. She offers parents guidance upon request, creative solutions, and unconditional support. She is excited to work with your family!
Sarah grew up in a small community on an island off the coast of Maine. When she isn’t caring for young children, she enjoys traveling, playing rugby, and spending quality time with friends and family. She loves animals, being in nature, and immersing herself in a good story.
